Reverse description A long cross pattée extending to the inner circle divides the reverse into four quarters, with a rosette at the center intersection. Each quarter contains a heraldic emblem representing one of the four principal cities of Gelderland: an eagle for Arnhem, an eagle with a lion shield for Nijmegen, a rampant lion over a cross for Zutphen, and a rampant lion over a lily for Roermond. A circular legend in Latin uncial script surrounds the design, identifying the coin as new money of Arnhem.
