Reverse description Central depiction of a Tournois castle or châtel tournois — a stylised fortified gate with towers — occupying the inner field within a pearled circle. Surrounding the central device, a legend in uncial script names the place of minting. The outer border features a ring of twelve fleurs-de-lis interspersed between two pearled circles, closely following the reverse type of the French gros tournois from which this seigneurial imitation derives its iconographic programme.
