| Obverse description | Full-length frontal effigy of Bishop John of Arkel depicted standing en face, vested in episcopal robes and wearing a mitre. The right hand is raised in benediction while the left hand holds a crozier. Beneath the figure, the shield of Arkel is displayed, dividing the surrounding circular legend. The rendering is characteristic of Gothic hammered coinage of the Meuse valley region, with linear stylization typical of mid-14th-century ecclesiastical issues. |

| Reverse description | A floriated cross occupies the central field, with a crown at the tip of each arm and an additional crown in each of the four angles formed by the cross, resulting in eight crowns in total. The cross divides the circumferential legend into four segments. The overall composition is symmetrical and consistent with the Gothic gros tradition of the Prince-Bishopric of Liège, combining heraldic and religious symbolism in a finely arranged design. |
