The cross divides the inner legend into four segments. Two concentric circular legends surround the central motif: an inner legend and an outer legend, both rendered in Gothic uncial script and separated by a plain annular border. The legends invoke a religious benediction and identify the issuing mint at Maastricht under the patronage of Saint Peter. |
