Obverse description A tournament helmet rendered in Gothic style occupies the central field, set within a ring of arcs forming a cusped inner circle; the arms of the Bishopric of Utrecht appear below the helmet, dividing the legend. At the lower termination of the legend, the arms of the Hoorne family are depicted, identifying the issuing bishop. The surrounding Gothic uncial legend reads in two registers separated by lozenge-shaped stops, invoking Arnold's title and authority.
