| Descrizione del rovescio | Disarticulated horse leaping or striding to the left, rendered in the highly stylised Celtic abstract manner characteristic of British Iron Age coinage. The horse's body is broken into its component elements scattered across the field rather than depicted naturalistically. Numerous individual pellets are arranged above the horse figure, while a single pellet representing a stylised sun symbol appears in the lower field below the horse. The composition fills the flan in an asymmetric arrangement typical of the Westerham North type, derived ultimately from the reverse of Philip II of Macedon's gold stater prototype. |
