| Beschrijving voorzijde | Highly stylised, abstract rendering of the head of Apollo facing right, derived ultimately from the Macedonian gold stater prototype. A wreath arcs across the head with leaf tips pointing downward at the inner terminus. A prominent spike adjoined by a long crescent projects from the design field. Below the head, a vertical cloak motif and flanking crescents coalesce into an elongated, axe-head facial form. Raised, standing hair curls appear behind the head, rendered as bold relief pellets and curved lines characteristic of the Chute type. |
