| 背面描述 | A stylised triple-tailed horse depicted in motion to the right, rendered in the abstract Celtic artistic tradition characteristic of Dobunnic coinage. The tail divides into three distinct strands, each terminating in a pellet. The ear is depicted in an elliptical open form spread at the top. Beneath the horse, a six-spoked wheel serves as a subsidiary device, while a crescent appears above the animal. The abbreviated inscription ANTED is placed above the horse, referencing the tribal ruler Antedios. |

The Dobunni occupied a territory centered on what is now Gloucestershire and the surrounding region, and their coinage is unusual among British Celtic issues for showing a relatively coherent dynastic sequence — Antedios being one of the later named rulers, identified solely through the monogram on coins like this one. No other historical record confirms his existence. The tribe submitted to Rome shortly after the Claudian invasion of 43 AD, making this stater a product of the final generation of independent Dobunnic authority.
