Aanvullende informatie

The Dobunni occupied a territory centered on what is now Gloucestershire and the surrounding region, and their coinage is unusual among British Celtic issues for showing a relatively coherent dynastic sequence — Antedios being one of the later named rulers, identified solely through the monogram on coins like this one. No other historical record confirms his existence. The tribe submitted to Rome shortly after the Claudian invasion of 43 AD, making this stater a product of the final generation of independent Dobunnic authority.
