| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stylised horse rendered in the Late Iron Age Celtic manner, depicted in profile and surrounded by a scatter of abstract pellets, annulets, and linear ornaments typical of Corieltauvian coinage. The horse's body is formed from bold, curving relief lines, with disjointed limbs and a flowing tail dissolving into decorative field ornaments. Above or around the horse the Latin inscription VEP / COR F appears, identifying the issuing authority and serving as the primary diagnostic legend of the Vepo Star type. The reverse die-cutting is consistent with a contemporary counterfeit struck from a base-metal core, with the design displaying a coarser execution than official tribal staters. A star or rosette motif, characteristic of the Vepo Star series, may be present in the field. |
