Above or around the horse the Latin inscription VEP / COR F appears, identifying the issuing authority and serving as the primary diagnostic legend of the Vepo Star type. The reverse die-cutting is consistent with a contemporary counterfeit struck from a base-metal core, with the design displaying a coarser execution than official tribal staters.
