Obverse description Central field displays the crowned French royal shield semé of fleurs-de-lys, surmounted by a large ornate crown and flanked on each side by an ermine spot, the heraldic emblem of Brittany. A radiant sun device, characteristic of this issue, appears above the crown. The entire central device is enclosed within a double beaded inner circle, with the circumferential Latin legend occupying the outer margin. The hammered flan exhibits the characteristic irregular edge typical of late medieval French gold coinage.

Reverse description A bold cross pattée composed of fleurs-de-lys, forming a floriated cross with a central quatrefoil at the intersection. Each of the four angles between the arms of the cross is occupied by a crowned ermine spot, referencing Louis XII's dual sovereignty over France and Brittany. The design is contained within a double beaded inner circle, with the Latin devotional legend running along the outer margin. The reverse field retains the characteristic flat, hand-struck surface typical of hammered gold coinage of the period.
