| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field occupied by the crowned royal arms of France — a shield semé of fleurs-de-lis (three fleurs-de-lis arranged two over one in the French royal tradition) surmounted by a large Gothic crown with fleurons. The shield is presented frontally within a plain inner circle. The surrounding legend, in Gothic lettering, runs clockwise along the broad outer border and is separated from the inner field by a beaded circle. The overall composition is bold and heraldic, consistent with hammered French Renaissance gold coinage. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central design features an elaborate floriated cross with ornate Gothic detailing, its four arms terminating in fleurs-de-lis; a fleur-de-lis is also placed in each of the four angles between the arms of the cross, forming a cruciform composition of great decorative richness. A small annular ring or boss marks the centre of the cross. The entire design is contained within a plain inner circle, beyond which the circumferential legend in Gothic lettering occupies the broad outer border, separated by a beaded ring. The style is characteristic of the Valois hammered gold coinage of the early sixteenth century. |
