Obverse description Full-length effigy of John the Blind, Count of Luxembourg and King of Bohemia, enthroned facing beneath an elaborate Gothic architectural canopy with pinnacled turrets and tracery. The monarch is crowned, holding an upraised sword in his right hand and a heraldic shield bearing the Bohemian lion and Luxembourg arms in his left. The figure is rendered in high relief in the Parisian Gothic style characteristic of mid-14th century coinage. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin reads the royal title along the beaded inner border.
