The S-form is flanked and surrounded by multiple raised pellets of varying sizes distributed across the field, along with concentric ring-and-pellet ornaments characteristic of Corieltauvian die-cutting. Additional curvilinear elements fill the remaining field in a typically abstract La Tène decorative scheme. The irregular beaded border follows the scyphate flan edge. |

The Corieltauvi occupied territory across what is now Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, and Nottinghamshire, and their coinage developed later than that of the southeastern tribes — borrowing the scyphate (bowl-shaped) flan technique almost certainly through contact with continental Gaulish production rather than direct Greek influence. The quarter stater denomination functioned at the lower end of a largely prestige-based exchange system; actual market-price commerce in this region was still predominantly conducted in kind.
ABC 1773 is among the less frequently encountered Corieltauvi fractions. The findspot distribution clusters heavily around the Humber estuary and the Trent valley.
