| Aversbeschreibung | Highly abstracted Celtic rendering of a boar, reduced to an intricate mass of curved lines, ridges, and incised dashes across the convex field. The animal form is entirely dissolved into La Tène decorative convention, with no naturalistic anatomical detail surviving. A raised nodular boss occupies the approximate centre, around which radiating and interlocking linear elements suggest the outline of the creature. The flan exhibits the characteristic scyphate (cup-shaped) profile of the Lindsey series, with an irregular beaded border at the rim. |

The Corieltauvi occupied territory across what is now Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, and Nottinghamshire, and their coinage developed later than that of the southeastern tribes — borrowing the scyphate (bowl-shaped) flan technique almost certainly through contact with continental Gaulish production rather than direct Greek influence. The quarter stater denomination functioned at the lower end of a largely prestige-based exchange system; actual market-price commerce in this region was still predominantly conducted in kind.
ABC 1773 is among the less frequently encountered Corieltauvi fractions. The findspot distribution clusters heavily around the Humber estuary and the Trent valley.
