Reverse description The reverse displays a bold Arabic legend filling the entire field, reading 'Bahmani' (بهمنی), the dynastic name of the issuing sultanate, rendered in a large, informal Naskh hand characteristic of hammered copper coinage of the Deccan Sultanates. The inscription occupies the majority of the flan without a formal border, consistent with the variable-die practice of early Bahmani copper issues. The surface shows the characteristic irregular strike and patination associated with hammered base-metal coinage of the late fourteenth and early fifteenth centuries.
