Taj ud-Din Firuz Shah ruled the Bahmani Sultanate for over two decades and is remembered as one of its most culturally ambitious sultans — he corresponded with foreign courts, patronized Persian literature, and maintained diplomatic contact with China. His copper fractions like this gani subdivision circulated across the Deccan at a moment when the sultanate controlled territory stretching between the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The Bahmani monetary system borrowed heavily from Delhi Sultanate conventions while adapting denominations to local trade demands.
