Gadhaiya Paisa - Jaitavrama Deva Paramaras of Malawa

The Gadhaiya Paisa tradition descends from Sasanian-influenced prototypes that filtered into northwestern India through Arab intermediaries, the original fire-altar and bust imagery degrading over centuries of copying until it became almost abstract. By the mid-thirteenth century, Paramara issues were already operating in the shadow of Sultanate expansion; the dynasty's control over Malawa was increasingly nominal, squeezed between Delhi's southward pressure and competing Rajput powers. Jaitavrama Deva's reign falls within the dynasty's terminal decades before Paramara rule effectively dissolved.
