Obverse description Irregular flan with a centrally placed tamgha (dynastic emblem) in relief, rendered in a schematic style characteristic of Golden Horde fractional coinage. The tamgha device is surrounded by a beaded border that traces the irregular circumference of the flan. The field surrounding the emblem is plain and slightly concave, typical of hammered Islamic coinage of this period. The design is boldly struck, though die alignment and flan preparation are irregular, consistent with anonymous provincial issues of the Bulghar mint.
