The wreath is rendered in the typical schematic late Roman style, with simplified leaf pairs tied at the bottom. This votive type commemorates the emperor's twentieth vow of renewal, a standard formulaic reverse type for this reign. The overall design is characteristic of the small reduced folles issued at the Rome mint during the 430s. |
