| Reverse description | The votive inscription VOT XX is prominently displayed within the field, enclosed by a laurel wreath terminating at its base in a large central pellet. The wreath is rendered in the typical schematic late Roman style, with simplified leaf pairs tied at the bottom. This votive type commemorates the emperor's twentieth vow of renewal, a standard formulaic reverse type for this reign. The overall design is characteristic of the small reduced folles issued at the Rome mint during the 430s. |
