| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valens, rendered in the late Roman imperial style characteristic of the Valentinianic period. The emperor wears a pearl diadem, and the paludamentum is fastened at the right shoulder, with the cuirass visible beneath. The legend DN VALENS PF AVG runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan.
