| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Theodosius I, adorned with a rosette diadem, rendered in the characteristic late Roman imperial portrait style. The emperor's effigy displays finely engraved paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and segmented cuirass detailing. The encircling Latin legend reads D N THEODOSIVS P F AVG, identifying the emperor as Our Lord Theodosius, Pious and Blessed Augustus. The portrait exhibits the distinctive elongated facial features and stylized hair treatment typical of the Theodosian workshop at Antioch. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The personification of Constantinopolis is depicted helmeted and seated facing on a throne, her head turned to the right. She holds a spear in her right hand and raises a globe in her left hand, her drapery arranged so as to leave the right leg bare, with her right foot resting upon a ship's prow — an allusion to Constantinople's maritime dominance. Control marks appear in the left and right fields, and the officina letter and mint signature ANT with a workshop numeral appear in the exergue. The surrounding legend CONCORDIA AVGGG proclaims the harmony of the three reigning Augusti. |
