The emperor's effigy displays finely engraved paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and segmented cuirass detailing. The encircling Latin legend reads D N THEODOSIVS P F AVG, identifying the emperor as Our Lord Theodosius, Pious and Blessed Augustus. The portrait exhibits the distinctive elongated facial features and stylized hair treatment typical of the Theodosian workshop at Antioch. |

| Descripción del reverso | The personification of Constantinopolis is depicted helmeted and seated facing on a throne, her head turned to the right. She holds a spear in her right hand and raises a globe in her left hand, her drapery arranged so as to leave the right leg bare, with her right foot resting upon a ship's prow — an allusion to Constantinople's maritime dominance. Control marks appear in the left and right fields, and the officina letter and mint signature ANT with a workshop numeral appear in the exergue. The surrounding legend CONCORDIA AVGGG proclaims the harmony of the three reigning Augusti. |
