正面描述 Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Honorius facing right, wearing a pearl diadem and paludamentum. The effigy displays the characteristic late Roman imperial portrait style with a beaded diadem visible above the forehead. The surrounding Latin legend DN HONORIVS PF AVG runs clockwise along the coin's circumference. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of the small bronze coinage of this period. The coin exhibits a dark patina consistent with its age and bronze composition.

附加信息

Honorius ruled the Western court from Ravenna while his brother Arcadius held Constantinople, and the Antioch mint — one of the most productive in the East — struck this small bronze under Eastern authority despite Honorius appearing on the issue. The GLORIA ROMANORVM reverse type was a deliberate assertion of imperial unity at a moment when the two halves of the empire were functionally separate administrations, coordinating poorly against mounting pressure on the Danubian and Rhine frontiers.

408 marks the death of Arcadius, making pieces from the tail end of this emission transitional by reign.
