| Reverse description | Two winged Victories stand facing one another in the field, each figure holding a wreath in one hand and a palm branch in the other, a composition emblematic of shared imperial triumph. The reverse legend VICTOR-IA AVGGG, referring to the victory of the three Augusti, is distributed around the type. The mint mark SMAQS in the exergue identifies production at the Aquileia mint, second officina, with the S prefix denoting the silver-washed (argentiferous) bronze fabric standard for the period. Heavy encrustation and patination render the finer design elements largely illegible on this example. |
