| Obverse description | The Virgin Mary enthroned facing, crowned and nimbed, holding the Christ Child on her left knee who raises his right hand in blessing. The figures are rendered in high relief in the late medieval Hungarian florin tradition. A beaded inner circle frames the central design, with the legend running in the outer field interrupted by small rosette stops. The legend reads BATHORI · SIGISMVND · or similar, identifying the issuing prince. |
