| Descrizione del dritto | Double-headed imperial eagle displayed, each head surmounted by an arch crown, with an orb on the eagle's chest. The design derives from an earlier Habsburg issue of Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor, adapted for local counterstamped circulation. Applied to the coin's field is the city counterstamp of Nijmegen: a tied bundle of arrows, the heraldic symbol of the United Provinces, struck in a small punch. The peripheral legend runs in Latin along the coin's rim. |
