| Obverse description | Double-headed imperial eagle displayed, each head surmounted by an arch crown, with an orb on the eagle's chest. The design derives from an earlier Habsburg issue of Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor, adapted for local counterstamped circulation. Applied to the coin's field is the city counterstamp of Nijmegen: a tied bundle of arrows, the heraldic symbol of the United Provinces, struck in a small punch. The peripheral legend runs in Latin along the coin's rim. |

| Reverse description | A crowned municipal coat of arms of Nijmegen displayed within an ornate cartouche. An abbreviated date appears above the open crown surmounting the shield, while the denomination is indicated below the escutcheon. The reverse legend, rendered in Latin, encircles the central device and identifies the issuing authority as the city of Nijmegen, with the inscription distributed around the periphery of the coin. |
