| Reverse description | A quartered heraldic composition centered on the Visconti dynastic arms: a large shield bearing the biscione (viper devouring a child) at the base, surmounted by a crested tournament helmet from which emerges a dragon crest with spread wings, the whole ensemble set within a quatrefoil frame formed by four lobed panels. Each lobe contains abbreviated elements of the ducal title beneath small crowns. The surrounding peripheral legend, punctuated by rosettes and stops, records the full ducal title of Filippo Maria Visconti. The design reflects the heraldic grandeur typical of Lombard late-Gothic coinage. |
