| Obverse description | The Guatemalan national coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a resplendent quetzal bird perched atop a scroll inscribed with the independence legend LIBERTAD 15 DE SETIEMBRE DE 1821, flanked by crossed rifles and swords with laurel and olive branches forming a wreath below.
