Obverse description Heavily worn copper flan bearing a circular cartouche enclosing the mint name 'Samarqand' in Arabic script, rendered in a bold Naskh hand. The inscription is set within a round border, occupying the central field of the coin. The surrounding field is plain and unadorned, consistent with the utilitarian character of late Timurid copper coinage. The strike is irregular, typical of hammered falus produced at Central Asian mints in this period.
