Obverse description A lion passant to the right occupies the central field, rendered in a bold, schematic style characteristic of provincial Qajar copper coinage. The figure is depicted in profile with the tail raised over the back. A partial beaded border frames the design along the upper periphery. The strike is irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial production, leaving portions of the design weakly impressed.

Reverse description The central field bears a multi-line Arabic legend in Nastaliq script indicating the mint name Bushehr (بوشهر) and the regnal formula zarb, meaning 'struck at.' The AH date 1270 appears as part of the inscription, with the century digits (12) partially implied by convention. A beaded border runs along the periphery, partially visible due to the irregular flan. Small floral or star ornaments appear in the field beside the inscription.
