正面描述 Central field occupied by a densely struck Arabic legend arranged in multiple lines within a roughly circular composition. The inscription, rendered in the Naskh style typical of Bijapur Sultanate coinage, fills the flan and is partially obscured by characteristic die wear and verdigris patination. The flat, hammered fabric results in an irregular, slightly lobate flan edge. No border ornament is clearly discernible on this side.

附加信息

Muhammad Adil Shah ruled Bijapur for three decades during which the sultanate reached its greatest territorial extent, briefly controlling much of the Deccan following the 1636 treaty with the Mughals that formalized a fragile regional balance. The fractional falus denominations of his reign were struck to facilitate small-denomination trade in a sultanate whose economy ran heavily on local market exchange rather than long-distance commerce. This ⅔ unit is among the more unusual fractions in the Deccani copper series — most sultanates settled on halves and quarters.
