| Descrizione del rovescio | Central field displays a boldly struck Arabic legend or tughra-style inscription occupying the majority of the flan, surrounded by an elaborate border of intertwined foliate arabesque scrollwork. The inscription, characteristic of undated provincial Afghan copper falus issues, is rendered in a stylized calligraphic hand. The peripheral border consists of looping vegetal ornament extending to the irregular hammered edge. Overall execution is consistent with the crude but distinctive style of Herat mint copper coinage produced across the broad period of issue. |
