Obverse description Central field features a stylized bird motif rendered in a bold, somewhat abstract manner characteristic of provincial Afghan copper coinage. The bird is depicted in profile, surrounded by interlacing foliate or arabesque scrollwork that fills the field to the periphery. The design is executed in low relief typical of hammered copper falus coinage, with the irregular flan edge showing characteristic clipping. Arabic legends or decorative elements appear within the surrounding foliate border, worn and partially legible.
