Obverse description Central field bearing the Arabic name 'Muhammad' in bold Naskh script, prominently struck within an undecorated field. The inscription is arranged in two or three stacked lines occupying the majority of the flan, with the word 'Allah' or a pious invocation appearing above. The legends are characteristic of late Ilkhanid copper coinage, executed in a bold, angular hand typical of early 14th-century Baghdad mint production. The flan is irregularly shaped, as is common for hammered copper issues of this period, with moderate surface wear.
