| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Arabic religious legend filling the field, comprising the Islamic shahada and the declaration of the Prophet's messengership. The inscription reads in standard Kufic or Naskh script across multiple registers: 'La ilah illa allah wahdahu la sharika lahu muhammad rasul allah.' The lettering is boldly engraved and occupies the majority of the flan, with no border evident on the irregular hammered flan. Patination and surface corrosion partially obscure the lower registers of the text. |
