| Obverse description | A quadruped beast depicted in profile walking or striding to the right, rendered in a schematic and primitive style characteristic of Anatolian beylik copper coinage. The animal, possibly a lion or dog, occupies the central field of the irregular flan. The surface shows considerable porosity and wear consistent with hammered copper issues of this period. No legible inscription or border is present. |

The Karamanids controlled south-central Anatolia for over a century and a half, frequently clashing with both the Mongol Ilkhanate and, later, the expanding Ottoman state. Anonymous copper fals of this type — carrying no ruler's name — were almost certainly issued for local market circulation where denominational trust rested on the issuing authority's territory rather than any individual sovereign's name.
The date range reflects genuine attribution difficulty. Without a mint name or regnal inscription, assignment to Karaman relies on die style and find context.
