Reverse description A stylized noria (water wheel), the civic emblem of Hamah, depicted within a circular border or ring, occupying the central field of the coin. The wheel motif is rendered in a schematic, bold style typical of Mamluk fals coinage, with curved spokes or buckets suggested by the design. Additional fragmentary Arabic legends or decorative elements appear in the surrounding field. The type is well-known as the distinctive reverse badge of Hamah mint fals issues, referencing the famous waterwheels (norias) of the Orontes River for which the city was celebrated.
