The inscription is rendered in a bold naskhi or quasi-kufic hand consistent with Ayyubid fals coinage of the period 613–634 AH. The reverse displays an animated zoomorphic or interlaced decorative motif surrounding the legend, a hallmark of Ayyubid artistic convention on copper issues.
