| Obverse lettering | الملك العزيز (Translation: Al-Malik al-Aziz: `The ruler al-Aziz [Mohammed].`) |
| Reverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Arabic legend within a dotted circular border, reading 'Al-Imam al-Mustansir', acknowledging the Abbasid Caliph al-Mustansir as the supreme religious and political authority. The inscription is rendered in a bold naskhi or quasi-kufic hand consistent with Ayyubid fals coinage of the period 613–634 AH. The reverse displays an animated zoomorphic or interlaced decorative motif surrounding the legend, a hallmark of Ayyubid artistic convention on copper issues. Surface shows significant wear and patination, with areas of raised copper and dark oxidation. |
