| Obverse description | Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan displaying a bold Arabic legend in the field, reading 'al-Ghuri' (الغوري), the regnal epithet of Sultan Qansuh II al-Ghuri. The inscription is rendered in a somewhat cursive Naskh-influenced script typical of late Mamluk copper coinage, with strokes radiating prominently across the central field. The flan edges are uneven, consistent with hand-struck production, and the surface shows characteristic patination with areas of earthen encrustation. |
