Obverse description Irregular hammered copper flan bearing a central tamgha (dynastic emblem) rendered in raised relief within a lunette or arched frame, the device occupying the majority of the field. The tamgha is characteristic of the Shirvanshah dynasty and serves as the principal identifying device of the issuer. An Arabic legend is inscribed above and around the tamgha, reading the honorific title of the Mongol overlord. The flan shows typical irregular flan-cutting consistent with mid-13th century Caucasian copper coinage.
