| Reverse description | Crowned shield of arms of the Principality of Orange, charged with three horizontal rows of trefoils (billets of Orange), set within a beaded border. The royal crown surmounting the escutcheon is rendered with fine detail, its arches and jewels clearly defined. The circular Latin legend SOLI.DEO.HONOR.ET.GLORIA with the date 1652 runs around the periphery, punctuated by ornamental stops. The overall composition is well-centred and typical of the feudal coinage struck at the Orange Mint under William Henry. |
