Reverse description Central type depicts a stoat (ermine) amid rising flames confronting a coiled serpent, a classic emblem of courage and virtue derived from the device of the Poniatowski family. The scene is set on a flat ground line below which the date '1771' is inscribed. The Latin legend 'NON TIMET' (It does not fear) is arranged in two words across the upper field, flanking the central device to left and right. The reeded border continues from the obverse, framing the composition uniformly. The overall engraving is executed in a finely detailed Baroque manner consistent with the Warsaw Mint's output of this period.
