The large senatorial authorisation letters S and C (Senatus Consultum) are placed symmetrically in the left and right fields respectively, flanking the figure. The reverse legend FORTVNAE REDVCI arcs around the upper periphery, invoking Fortuna as the goddess of safe return. |
