A second figure, likely a defeated Dacian warrior, appears in the field. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the lower exergue, flanking the base of the central composition. The surrounding legend, disposed around the periphery of the field, dedicates the issue to Trajan as Optimus Princeps on behalf of the Senate and Roman people. |
