Obverse description The obverse presents a bold three-line inscription AVGVSTVS / TRIBVNIC / POTEST arranged centrally within the field, referencing Augustus's tribunician power. The legend is fully enclosed within a finely rendered wreath of laurel, tied at the base with a small decorative element. No portrait is depicted; the design is entirely epigraphic in character, a distinctive feature of the Augustan aes coinage reform. The wreath border is well-struck with individual leaves clearly articulated, framing the central text in a visually balanced composition. The surface carries an attractive dark green patina consistent with a coin of the early Imperial period.
